Silvester delighted with race debut
Despite a crash during qualifying when he hit a false neutral and then saw his handlebar snap off and fall into the gravel, the 20-year-old rider had set a time good enough for a race start from the sixth row of the grid.
With the weather threatening to disrupt proceedings on Monday, the Race Director made the sensible decision to move the Stock 600 race to Sunday afternoon when, although cold, at least it was dry.

He had a good battle within a group of riders and eventually crossed the finish line in 12th place.
“After my crash during qualifying I just wanted to bring the bike home safely and my aim was a top-20 finish, but after my good start I found myself up into a points scoring position and nearly into the top 10,” Silvester said.
“I eventually finished 12th which was well beyond my expectations so I was really pleased.”
The next round is at Brands Hatch on the short and tricky Indy Circuit on April 15.
