Horse-racing ‘Tip Of The Day’ — Tuesday November 20
Tuesday November 20
UMADACHAR
Folkestone 12.40 WIN
The bell is tolling for Folkestone racecourse, which stages one of its final fixtures today before closure. Its demise is sure to annoy Lambourn trainer Warren Greatrex because he boasts such a fine strike rate at the Kent track. Seven of the last 19 horses he has run here have won -- and he has a big chance of adding to that tally with this strong and scopy four-year-old filly. Her form last season, which included placed efforts in Listed races at Aintree and Sandown, was among the best on offer in mares’ bumpers. She was undeniably disappointing on her first outing over hurdles at Towcester two weeks ago, but that was a warm contest over an inadequate trip. In the belief that she will have come on for the run and is bred to appreciate the stamina test offered by today’s race, the highly-regarded grey deserves another chance.
