CRICKET: Horncastle CC celebrate season with presentation night
It was a season of mixed fortunes for the club, with the Saturday team forced to withdraw from the Lincolnshire League mid-season due to unavailability of players.
The Sunday XI improved their position on the previous season, finishing a creditable fourth in the Sunday League.

Hide AdThere were divisional awards for team captain Rob Bee who finished as top scorer and with the highest batting average, whilst promising youngster Ben Fidling snaffled the divisional trophy for the most catches in the season.
The highlight of the season was the club’s junior under-15 side who beat all comers to complete a league and cup double.
Club trophies were presented to players on the night by club president Michael Paige.
Wicket keeper Jonny Clark collected the trophy for Fielder of the Season. Sunday captain Rob Bee was presented with both the Supporters’ Player of Season and the Batting Award.

Hide AdTom Johnson picked up the Young Player of Season Award in recognition of his hard work and enthusiasm both on and off the field.
The biggest round of applause of the evening went to Julian Lovely who was presented with a hand-crafted award in recognition of more than 30 years service to Horncastle Cricket Club.
The club’s AGM will be held next Monday (November 9) at 7.30pm at Horncastle Town FC’s club pavilion.
