Worksop and Retford: Town businesses celebrate at North Notts Business Awards
Karkli Ltd, which was started by Gateford entrepreneur Kumar Kolar, picked up the Successful New Business Award at the ceremony.
Bread & Roses CIC, Bridge Street, Worksop, collected the Social Enterprise of the Year Award and Speed Screed Limited, Retford, was crowned Company of the Year 2015.

Hide AdMore than 160 people attended the special evening at Worksop College last week.
A spokeswoman for organisers North Notts Business Connections said: “It was the biggest and best awards ceremony yet.”
“There were a wide variety of businesses from different sectors.”
“What is encouraging, is that there were more entries from the property and construction sector.”

Retaining their titles, Lynx Black Belt Leadership Academy, Retford, won the Business Community Partnership Award, whilst Edgewise Edgestrip Ltd, Retford, was the triumphant winner of the International Trade Award for the third year in succession.
Kara Wilkinson Holmes, of The White Horse Inn Barnby Moor, Retford, regained her thrown as Business Person of the Year and Fidler & Pepper Solicitors, Notts, collected the Excellence in Customer Service Award.
The Best Independent Retailer Award went to My Little Cottage, Retford, and Bassetlaw Museum took the Best Tourist Attraction Award.

Hide AdOne of the loudest cheers of the evening was received upon the announcement of Broomwagon Velo Café, Retford, as winners of the Best Guest Experience Award, as voted for by the general public. Owner, Heidi Cotton, said: “We don’t do quiet and subtle at Broomwagon, but I think that’s why we’ve been so well received in our first year. Needless to say, we’re so proud!”
The Apprentice of the Year Award also went to Speed Screed Limited’s Arron Baker.
