Video: Scene where a teenager was violently attacked in Worksop
Stephen Lyall was in Newgate Street, near to the junction with The Pines, when he was hit from behind then punched and kicked on the floor.
The unprovoked attack happened at about 10.30pm on Saturday 19th April as he walked home from his girlfriend’s house. He was left with a two inch cut to his head.
Police think there may have been more than one attacker.

Hide AdThe victim’s mother, Joy Ashmore, told the Guardian her son had to have stitches.
She said: “He was very shaken up at the time. He thinks there was a group of about five people.”
Joy thanked everybody who had sent messages of support to the family. However, she complained that it took too long for police to come and take a statement.
Insp Phil Davies said victims’ welfare was of the utmost importance to Notts Police.

“An agreement was reached with the victim in this case to arrange an appointment with officers, however, it’s clear that on this occasion we were unable to meet his availability due to other demands.”
“This delay was unfortunate but I am confident that the investigation is progressing as would be expected and the victim is being updated.”
