Care home salutes a 'special' generation on VE Day
Staff and residents of Syne Hills Residential Home made the most of the opportunity to take their minds off the impact of Coronavirus - and took lots of pictures so relatives unable to visit at the moment could see what a great time they had.
"VE Day was always going to be something special, not least that it was this generation that we have to thank for getting us all through it," said a post on social media.

"We were mostly all out in the garden by 10am and watching out for the Red Arrows as they passed over. Then we had our VE Day lunch, which due to the spectacular weatherwe were able to enjoy outside.
"It was simply wonderful to see so many outside enjoying each other’s company in the sunshine and celebrating a much deserved event."
