Notts: Police relations set to improve
Professor Cecile Wright, from the University of Nottingham’s school of sociology and social policy led the three month study where it is anticipated she will recommend the introduction of an action plan to tackle hate crime and a supervision system where the performance of police officers and PCSO’s is regularly monitored to examine how they deliver their duties.
One of the main aims of the report is to encourage BME residents to report crime.

Chief Constable Chris Eyre said: “This report gives us an insight into the experiences some of our BME communities have had with policing. The Commissioner is right that we do all we can to replace negative perceptions of the police with positive experiences.”
Professor Wright is also expected to recommend a review of the Force’s Stop and Start strategy and to introduce more effective diversity training to all employees.
