More bonfires get out of hand around the county as residents try to dispose of waste while tips are closed under Covid-19 lockdown
The service has experienced a number of bonfire getting out of control and neighbours complaining about controlled burning affecting them and calling for the fires to be put out.
Last night (Thursday) the crew from Billingborough was called out at 8.14pm to reports of smoke in the area of Aunsby, near Sleaford.

Hide AdThey found a small quantity of waste building products being burned and put the flames out with a hose.
Just an hour earlier a crew from Bourne attended reports of smoke in the area of Burghley Street in Bourne.
This time a large quantity of waste clothing and household furniture had been burning. They too hosed it down and used drags to extinguish it.
Around the same time a crew from Donington attended reports of a shed on fire on Blackjack Road, Swineshead, near Boston.

Hide AdThe wooden shed was badly damaged, along with five metres of hedge and five metres of fence.
They used hoses and drags to put out the flames.
