Mayor Councillor Angela Birchall said: “We live in a wonderful town and it would be marvellous if it was seen at its best for the Queen’s birthday weekend.
“We’d love as many volunteers as possible to come forward.
“Everyone can play a part.”
The ‘Clean for the Queen Event’ will be held on Sunday June 5 - the week before the actual celebrations.
Volunteers are asked to meet at the Community Centre in Manor House Street, with the clean up taking place from 10am until 12 noon.
