Gainsborough: Man grabbed his ex partner around the throat and pushed her against the sofa during attack
Daniel Robinson grabbed his ex around the throat and pushed her against a sofa.
Jonathan Straw, prosecuting, said the woman’s head was banged against a wall during the incident.

Hide AdShe fled into the bathroom and barricaded herself inside but was pursued by Robinson who attempted to force his way through the door.
A friend of the woman tried to pull Robinson away but she was struck a blow.
Robinson then made his way down the stairs but before he left he punched his ex’s friend in the mouth knocking out a tooth.
Robinson,28, of Noel Street, Gainsborough, admitted charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and breach of a non-molestation order as a result of the incident on 27th December..

Hide AdHe was given a 12 month jail sentence suspended for two years and ordered to complete a building better relationships programme.
He was also given a restraining order banning him from going within 100 metres of any property where he knows his ex to be living or staying.
Sunil Khanna, defending, said his client believed he was being given mixed messages by his ex.
Sunil said: “He became concerned she had not contacted him.”
“He had been drinking.”
“Unfortunately he drank some more and went to the house.”
“He has been doing well on a community order.”

Hide Ad“He has spent four months in custody which means he has served the equivalent of an eight month jail sentence.”
Recorder Gareth Evans QC, passing sentence, told Robinson:“You are one of a growing army of men who cannot take no from women. “
“Your best advice is to keep well away.”
The Recorder said Robinson has showed signs of improving his behaviour and has already suffered some punishment because of the length of time he spent in custody awaiting his sentence.
