Billinghay scarecrow weekend is the people's choice
Clair Markham from Billinghay Community Group, which organised it, said: “We had 18 entries this year, with the winner being ‘Asleep on the Job’.”
This entry won the Old Mill Crafts trophy, with prizes for second and third as well.

People could collect entry forms to make their vote as well as maps of where to find all the entrants for a small charge to cover costs. Judging took place on Saturday although the creations were out all weekend.
The Co-op provided a selection of Lincolnshire produce which was presented to the People’s Vote winner, Worzel Gummidge (chosen by a draw out of hat to end the deadlock.)
The Billinghay Belles WI group made some fabulous bunting which was used to decorate the village and Mrs Markham thanked them for their support.

The weekend was also used to launch the Billinghay village App.
Mrs Markham said: “With support from Fund NK and Village SOS via Community Lincs in Sleaford, we have developed an App for residents and visitors.
“It includes a business directory, groups directory, a calendar of events and links to lots of other village information. We undertook the project to connect with people who are perhaps unaware of things which are happening in the village.”

“We believe that it’s the first of its kind,” said Mrs Markham proudly.
