Bassetlaw: Fun runners raise more than £1,400 for local charity at Welbeck event
“The weather was perfect for both running and walking and 286 people from 31 different organisations thoroughly enjoyed the morning running or walking the distance of 10km (six miles) through the magnificent Welbeck grounds,” said Vicky Rawson, development Manager at Focus on Young People in Bassetlaw.
The charity worked with Notts County Council Youth Service in encouraging young people, the clubs they belong to and their families to make the most of this opportunity and get sponsorship for their own club or organisation.

Everyone who finished received a medal and trophies were given to the winners and runners-up in junior and senior categories for both boys and girls.
The overall winner was 17 year-old Matthew Parkin, who completed the course in just 42 minutes.
Support to the event was given by staff from A1 Housing Services, who helped with registration, and the Worksop Army Cadets who took care of the comfort points along the route.

“This will go to supporting the number of applications they receive each year from young people across the district.”
