CORONAVIRUS: Boston Pilgrim Hospital team member raising funds for uniform bags to battle spread of Covid-19
Charlotte Blakey, 28, of Sibsey, has been fundraising to supply staff with bags in which they can place – and wash – their uniforms once they have finished work.
Originally, in a kind-hearted gesture, Charlotte and her family (husband Chris and three children), bought 50 of these bags to donate to colleagues. After a post online to staff, these 50 went ‘within minutes’, she said.

Hide AdCharlotte then decided to invite donations to buy more. Now, she has 700 bags ready to be handed out, with 100 more set for delivery.
“It just went crazy,” she said.
Among those to donate funds was her grandfather, Graham Longden, of Toynton All Saints, who contributed £150 to the total.
Also lending their support is friend April Sykes, of DPT-Online, Alford, who will be adding the message ‘KEY WORKER Used Uniform #covid 19 #stayhome’ to the bags free of charge.
Charlotte, who is currently unable to work due to having a child classed as vulnerable, hopes to help staff at other hospitals sites as well.
