Next stop paralympics for young Thomas
President of the Rotary Club of Sleaford, Alan Thomas, said he was honouredto present young disabled athlete Thomas Talbot, 12, with a set of competition wheels provided by the club to help him compete at the highest level '“ with a Paralympic medal as his ultimate goal.
Thomas, from Metheringham, recently returned from the CPISRA European Racerunning Championships in Denmark having won gold medals in the 100, 200, 400 and 800 metres track events. Representing England, Thomas competed against 86 competitors from 22 nations.
Suffering from Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy, which affects his lower limbs, Thomas supports himself using a Racerunner, which is a tricycle without pedals specifially designed for disabled people with impaired balance to propel themselves around a stadium race track.
