Worksop: Shoppers dig deep for Help for Heroes in Priory Centre
People donated buns, cakes and biscuits for the Bake for Heroes cake sale on Saturday 2nd May.
Tony Eaton, of Help for Heroes, said: “It was a cold day and at times it rained but it did not stop the public turning up, some even brought homemade cakes and buns to the stall for us to sell.”

“We also had a special guest appearance from our World War Two hero Ken Beard, who is also a Help for Heroes volunteer, and Ken always calls to see us when we are in town. We are proud of him.”
In total, residents helped to raise £1,580 from the cake sales, donations and sale of merchandise.
“The event could not have taken place without the Help for Heroes volunteers who again gave up another day to man the stalls and wear the bear costumes,” Tony added.
