The community effort in 
Market Rasen in response to the ongoing coronavirus threat has been praised by leading figures in the town.

In a speech on Monday evening, PM Boris Johnson outlined stricter restrictions on people leaving their homes to slow the spread of Covid-19.

Mr Johnson said that people must now stay at home except for shopping for basic necessities, daily exercise, any medical need and travelling to and from essential work.

His announcement came as the UK death toll reached 335.

In a statement prior to the speech, Mayor of Market Rasen, Coun John Matthews, said: “The last week has been one of the most unprecedented seven days as my time as your Mayor.
