Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue say their on-call firefighters are “every day people, just like me and you”.
A spokesman added: “They might be your neighbour, your friend or your work colleague, but there’s more to them than meets the eye. No matter where they are, they’re ready to take the call and save a life.”
Participants spoke to the crew to see what it was like to be a firefighter – with four people applying on the day.
