COMMUNITY: Laughton Women's Institute
Members who had attended the recent spring council at Skegness reported on a most interesting meeting where Janice Langley, the national chairman, was guest speaker.
Future events were discussed including the cliffside group of WI’s meeting on Monday, April 11 at Blyton village hall when the speaker will be Doug Stewart, presenter of The Great Outdoors on radio Humberside. Members were reminded of the Gainsborough Musical Theatre Society’s performance of Oklahoma at the trinity centre in April. It was decided that in view of so many events already arranged around Easter and during early April that there would be no walk and lunch this time.

The next meeting is on April 19 when Frank Tett will be talking about Hedgehog Welfare.
Starting in April, there will be a regular sales table to raise money for WI funds. Bring along any saleable items which are surplus to requirements. Also be prepared to take them home again if they are not sold, as the institute has nowhere to store them.
