Man stole cheese and coffee, court hears

A 37-year-old man stole cheese and coffee, a court heard.

Shane Ward, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Friday 23rd January.

The court heard that Ward took the items valued at £7.38, on 30th November 2014, from a One Stop Shop.

In mitigation it was said that there were no aggravating features and Ward made ‘full and frank’ admissions.

He said that he was going to eat the cheese and sell the coffee to get some money.

Ward received a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £7.38 in compensation.
