TEN YEARS AGO: Boston-area schools fly the flag for Mother Earth

Two village primary were flying the flag for Mother Earth 10 years ago.

Youngsters at the federated Swineshead St Mary’s and Sutterton Fourfields CofE schools had secured coveted Green Flag status after impressing judges with their green credentials.

Environmentally friendly measures at the sites included: solar panels, water-saving devices in the toilet cisterns, a wild flower meadow, orchards and allotments.
